That first step is an important one.
Category: Family
I have a weird family, that has been split, destroyed intertwined, clipped, and handled pretty roughly over my life. But they’re still family.
Here I lay out what I know and tell tales of the people in the family.
I’m an only child, and there aren’t many people that know what I know. Therefore I find it crucial to tell the stories of our family and who people are, what they are/were like, how everyone is/was related, and the interactions between them while I am alive.
Specifically, I write this out as a resource for my only child, Cecelia. She’s 5 now, about to turn 6. So if something were to happen to me, she’d never know anything about anything at all if I don’t. That’s why this is so important. Because she’s important.
Tidying up The Office
My daughter, who is now 4 years and 2 months old, has been making some noticeable strides in her development, both mental and physical. It’s a joy to watch and be astounded when she, for example, takes the DeWalt electric driver from my hand and removes the battery cover from an old broken-down Little Tykes……
HumbleBrag
I don’t post much about my daughter where it can be seen publicly a lot. That’s for her protection and privacy reasons, mostly. I have thousands of photos and hours of video of her safely stored from before her birth through a few hours ago, but try to keep it archived for my own use.……
Baby Pictures
[learn_more caption=”Click here to learn more”]I’m taking the opportunity tonight to try and organize my massive media library comprised of photos and videos I’ve taken over the past decade or so, and in doing so, of course, have come across some that are simply remarkable. One, in particular, is a video of my daughter taking……
An Ironic Piece of Writing
Here’s a bit of ominous foreshadowing I wrote prior to my own divorce, leaving a stepdaughter and daughter with a broken home.
The State of Children’s Media
My daughter recently turned three, and for those unaware, that’s plenty old enough to want to be entertained with electronic devices like iPad, iPhones, and TVs/DVDs. The toddler years. Her vocabulary is developing, she’s learning to potty train, and doing daily tasks like brushing your teeth and washing your hands needs to be reinforced. So,……
Saying Goodbye to a Dear Friend
My eulogy to a missed, dear friend I will always cherish.
Cecelia Living The Dream
Chef Cecelia prepares her imaginary Easy Mac and ice cream wearing her diaper and toque, which looks a lot like a diaper. Who wants a moose lip omelet? Joking aside, she does cook her own eggs in the real kitchen and clean up after herself, which is pretty impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDWg-nmTHp8
Spring Cleaning in the Autumn of our Lives
My wife and kids are away for Spring Break, as they tend to do each year. My wife’s a teacher, and my youngest is 1-1/2, so their schedules are flexible. They go to Alabama to see family while I stay behind and take care of the aging dog, get some sleep, listen to the Grateful……
